FAQ
What if I have an idea that doesn’t respond to any of the “thought starters”?
We encourage you to submit your idea anyway. If you’d like, you can reach out to us to discuss further regarding your specific idea.
What if I have an idea that responds to more than one “thought starter”?
Thought starters are meant to provide inspiration and framing as you consider potential proposal concepts. While your proposal should address at least one of the thought starters, it may respond to more than one depending on the topic and framing you choose.
May I submit an appendix with my proposal?
Submitted proposals shall not exceed 3 pages. The review panel will only evaluate the first 3 pages of the submission. If you have appendices, you may choose to add a note to the bottom of your proposal indicating that supplementary materials/appendices are available upon request and the review panel may choose to request them in order to make a final advancement determination. Please present all pertinent information related to your solution/idea in the 3 pages allotted as it is not guaranteed that the review panel will request any appendices at a later time.
How important is correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation in my proposal?
Spelling, grammar, and punctuation are very important. Please take time to proof read your entry prior to submission. Remember that you are an expert on your topic, but most people reading it will not be.
My idea is not fully fleshed out and ready for publication. Should I still submit?
Yes. We encourage proposals from all voices and perspectives and look forward to reading about your idea. If your idea is selected for advancement, the initiative will support you in the development of the idea into a policy paper for the policy catalog.
Will I be able to edit my proposal after submission?
Proposals may not be edited after submission. However, proposals selected for advancement will work with P2T to further develop a full policy paper and adjustments to the proposal may be made at that time.
If I get selected, do I automatically get the $15,000?
No. Stipends will be processed once the final policy papers are submitted for the final policy catalog. Selected proposals will be connected with resources and support, as needed, to develop the idea into a final policy paper. P2T is committed to working with all individuals selected and resources should not be a reason to not submit a proposal.
If my idea is selected, how much will P2T work with me to refine my idea?
P2T, or its designee, will work with selected submitters to refine or polish the ideas into full policy papers for inclusion in the policy catalog. P2T seeks to discover the most promising ideas and will work with those selected as needed.
Who owns the submission?
By submitting your proposal, you agree to license your proposal to Pathway 2 Tomorrow: Local Visions for America’s Future to use and share the proposal submission in its entirety through the selection process.
What happens after I submit my proposal?
Proposals selected for advancement will work with the initiative to flesh out and refine the proposal into a full policy paper for inclusion in the final policy catalog.
Who will evaluate or review the submissions? Who is on the Review Panel?
Submissions will be evaluated by a cross-professional panel of local education practitioners.
